Saturday 'Tsunami Relief Day' at F.C.'s George Mason High SchoolBy Nicholas Benton
A full day of fundraising activities is scheduled this Saturday, Jan. 15, at Falls Church's George Mason High School. Proceeds from the array of student-organized and led events will go the school's Tsunami Relief Project and contributed to the Save the Children relief organization.
Beginning at 10 a.m., the school's auxiliary gym on the campus at 7124 Leesburg Pike will be the site for white elephant and arts and craft sales and a silent auction. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the adjacent Mustang Cafe.
At 2:30 p.m., a Battle of the Bands will be held in the school auditorum, and at 6 p.m. an "upscale" reception with live piano and jazz music will be held at the Mustang Cafe, followed at 7:45 p.m. by a student talent showcase in the auditorium.
