Former F.C. Resident Janet Bruce McNicoll Hawkins Smith Dies

Janet Bruce McNicoll Hawkins Smith, a long-time resident of McLean, and Falls Church, Virginia, died on Dec. 1, in Pompano Beach, Florida, with her loving husband of 43 years, William L. Smith, Sr., at her side. Survivors include her husband; three children, Heather, Billy, and Austin; two brothers, David Rollo Hawkins, and James Alexander Hawkins; three grandchildren, Oliver, William, and James; as well as many other beloved friends and relatives.

The family will hold a public memorial service for Janet, on Jan. 8, 2005, at 3:00 PM, at the Falls Church Community Center (223 Little Falls St), with an open house immediately afterwards, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the Cherry Hill Farmhouse (312 Park Ave) next to the community center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in memory of Janet, to the Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation, 8120 Woodmont Ave, Suite 530, Bethesda, MD 20814.
