Jody's Jam of the Week
Smithsonian Holiday Evening Dinner
By Jody Fellows
Each week we’re faced with the task of choosing how to spend our Friday night. Some decide to stay at home and pop in a movie, others opt to hit the town and spend way too much money on cover charges and booze, while the rest of us listen to Miles Davis while relaxing in the tub munching on pumpkin crème brûlée. Uh, maybe that’s just me. Anyway, this Friday you can do all of the above (except the tub part) at the Smithsonian Holiday Evening Dinner, Jazz and Double Feature 3D IMAX Film. Held at the National Museum of Science & National History, the evening starts with a dinner of a wide array of international gourmet foods including Asian, Mediterranean and American. There’s also a dessert station including, yup, pumpkin crème brûlée. DC’s top jazz troupes will provide classic tunes to enhance your dining experience. After dinner, the IMAX double feature begins featuring the Academy Award nominated film, ‘Dolphins’ and the brand new ‘Santa Vs. The Snowman.’ So make the most out of your Friday night and take part in this stylish and unique experience— you can always save the bath for when you get home.
When: Friday, December 10 - 5:30-9:00 p.m. Cost: $55
Where: National Museum of Natural History, Johnson IMAX Theater, 10th & Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC
