Jody's Jam of the Week
Turkey Burnoff
By Jody FellowsWell, it’s that time of the year again when families gather, gluttony is encouraged and cartoon characters fly through the streets. Yup, it’s Thanksgiving and there’s nothing better than gobbling up turkey and gravy while watching Clifford the Big Red Dog float down Broadway during Macy’s 78th Thanksgiving Day Parade (NBC, 9 am - Noon). And don’t worry about holding back at the dinner table ‘cause this Saturday, the Montgomery County Road Runners Club is holding their Turkey Burnoff, a 5 and 10 mile run (2k for the kiddies) at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD. (Registration is race-day only). So, kick Atkins to the curb and load up on the stuffing & pie, you can always run it off. When: Saturday, November 27, 2004, 10:05 a.m. Where: Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 Free for MCRR members, $5 for non-members |
