Falls Church City Crime Report For October 12 - October 18, 2004

Burglary, Commercial, Cell Com, 1110 W. Broad St., Oct. 12, between midnight and 5:39 a.m., unknown person(s) smashed out the front glass door with a brick and stole an undetermined amount of merchandise. The alarm had not been set. Larceny from a Building, City Hall, 300 Park Ave., Oct. 13, 10:00 a.m., police arrested a female, 41, of no fixed address, for stealing a man’s coat that was left on the seat in the courtroom. Inside the coat was a cell phone that she then placed in the bushes outside the courtroom until it was time for her to leave. All items were recovered and the female was charged with Grand Larceny and Drunk in Public.

Larceny, Shoplifting, Syms, 1000 E. Broad St., Oct. 13, 7:23 p.m., police arrested a 15 year old female for stealing 2 Gym Bags that she concealed under several garments on a baby stroller and tried to exit the store without paying for the bags.

Tampering with an Auto, 2800 blk. Flagmaker Ct., between Oct. 13, 3:00 p.m. and Oct. 14, 9:18 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1993 Cadillac Seville and tampered with the steering column and ignition. The glove box was also opened and the contents were thrown on the floor.

Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 300 blk. Gundry Drive, between Oct. 13, 1:35 a.m. and Oct. 14, 2:53 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2002 Dodge Intrepid and removed cash and CD’s from the vehicle.

Burglary, Commercial (Attempted), Cell Com, 1110 W. Broad St., Oct. 15, 2:00 a.m. and Oct. 15, 9:57 a.m., unknown person(s) tried to pry open the rear door to Cell Com but activated the alarm and fled from the scene before removing any merchandise.

Larceny, George Mason High School, 7124 Leesburg Pk., between Oct. 13, 5:00 p.m. and Oct. 15, 12:13 p.m., unknown person(s) took a flute that had been accidentally left on a school bus.

Larceny, Shoplifting, Staples, 1104 W. Broad St., Oct. 17, 12:14 p.m., a Staples employee observed a white male subject with red hair and a cast on his arm take 2 ink cartridges and put them down his pants. The employee confronted the man outside the store and asked for the merchandise back. The suspect ran towards a silver 4-door vehicle, driven by a black male, which fled up Birch St.

Indecent Exposure, Eden Center, 6700 blk. Wilson Blvd., Oct. 17, 1:12 p.m., police arrested a male, 50, of no fixed address, after he approached a man in the parking lot and asked for a cigarette. When the man told him no, the suspect started taking off his clothes until he was fully nude. The male was charged with Public Nudity.

Burglary, Commercial, Argia’s, 124 N. Washington St., between Oct. 17, 11:59 p.m. and Oct 18, 7:46 a.m., an employee arriving for work found the rear door unlocked and the alarm shut off. Unknown person(s) then broke the office door off of its hinges and stole a safe from inside the office. A cash drawer was also pried open in the bar area. A total of over $1,200.00 was taken.
