Falls Church City Crime Report For October 5 - October 11, 2004

Larceny, Doors and Floors, 412 S. Maple Ave., Oct. 5, 3:03 p.m. unknown person(s) stole a company check and tried to cash it for $1,300.00 in Frederick County MD.

Assault, Simple, 100 blk. Hillwood Ave., Oct. 6, 1:10 p.m., a woman struck a man on the side of the head with a brick after an argument over a bottle of whiskey.

Suspicious Occurrence, 500 blk. Dorchester Rd., Oct. 7, 8:37 a.m., a resident discovered a Coke bottle stuck in a drain opening in a curb in front of the residence. The bottle had a small amount of gasoline in it.

Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Douglas Ave., Oct. 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:21 a.m., unknown person(s) broke out the rear window on a 2001 Toyota Avalon.

Drug/Narcotic Violation, 400 Hillwood Ave., Oct. 7, 7:06 p.m., incident to a traffic stop police arrested a male, 27, of Falls Church VA (county), for possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (pipe) and driving without a driver's license. He was released on a summons on all charges.

Fraud by Impersonation, 1000 blk. Parker St, Oct. 9, 11:10 a.m., a resident discovered that unknown person(s) used her name and social security number to open an account with a phone company and ran the bill up to over $500.00.

Phone Calls/Harassing, 500 blk. Timber Lane, Oct. 9, 1:38 p.m., a resident was receiving harassing phone calls from a man in reference to a civil matter. Police contacted the man and he stated that he would not make any further calls to the resident.

Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 400 blk. S. Maple Ave., between Oct. 8, 6:00 p.m. and Oct. 9, 2:01 p.m., unknown person(s) stole the rear license plate off of a 1988 Chevy Van.

Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 100 blk. Haycock Rd., between Oct. 9, 7:00 p.m. and Oct. 10, 12:42 a.m., unknown person(s) broke the rear passenger vent window on a 1997 Toyota Corolla and once inside stole a car stereo, speakers and a tool box.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 1100 blk. W. Broad St., Oct. 10, 5:00 a.m., police recovered a 1994 Oldsmobile Sierra that had been stolen earlier from Prince Georges County, MD.

Larceny from a Vehicle, 500 blk. Roosevelt Blvd., between Oct. 9, 9:00 p.m. and Oct. 10, 11:18 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1999 Honda Civic by unknown means and removed the car stereo, an amp and a sub woofer. L

arceny from a Building, International Motors (Saab), 540 S. Washington St., between Oct. 8, 6:00 p.m. and Oct. 11, 7:02 a.m., unknown person(s) stole 39 tires, of assorted sizes and makes, that were in an unsecured fenced in area. A lock had been cut on the tire racks to get to the tires. The tires were valued at over $4,000.00.

Larceny, 300 blk. Grove Ave., between Oct. 10, 9:00 p.m. and Oct. 11, 8:02 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a political sign from the yard of a residence.

Larceny from a Building, KFC, 1120 W. Broad St., between Oct. 4, 9:00 p.m. and Oct. 11, 2:14 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a gym bag from an unlocked locker in the employee's area. The bag contained clothes, a cell phone, a wallet and a set of car keys.
