Council Delays Towing Vote
By Nicholas F. Benton
At its meeting Monday, the Falls Church City Council voted to table action on a new vehicle towing ordinance to its Oct. 25 meeting, pending further consultations between the City Attorney and attorneys for some towing companies.
It adopted a new animal control ordinance along lines reported in last week's News-Press, except that the permitted length for pet snakes was increased from six to eight feet.
The Council authorized the City Manager to sign the "Metro Matters" agreement with the Metro, increasing proportional with other jurisdictions the City's commitment to Metro capital improvement measures.
It authorized the manager to execute a contract to purchase two portable generators for the City water system.
It confirmed the appointments of James Trollinger to the Public Safety and Human Relations Advisory Commission, or Ron Anzalone and Maurice Terman to the Historical Commission, and Barbara Mahoney to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board. |
