Falls Church City Crime Report for Week Ending September 13


  • Destruction of Property, Thomas Jefferson School, 601 S. Oak St., between Sept. 3, 12:01 a.m. and Sept. 7, 8:44 a.m., unknown person(s) spray painted graffiti on the playground equipment, benches and on one of the portable classrooms.
  • Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 200 blk. Katie Ct., between Sept. 4, 12:01 a.m. and Sept. 7, 7:19 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 1993 Honda Civic and removed a dollars worth of change.
  • Destruction of Property, 200 blk. W. Greenway Blvd., between Sept. 8, 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 9, 5:12 p.m., unknown person(s) broke off the drivers side mirror of a 1989 Toyota Station Wagon that was parked on the street in front of the residence.
  • Assault, Simple, 800 blk. W. Broad St. (rear parking lot), Sept. 10, 6:50 p.m., a woman was punched in the back of the neck by a male acquaintance after they had an argument in a vehicle they were traveling in. The man fled on foot before police arrived.
  • Assault, Simple, 900 blk. Ellison St., Sept. 10, 11:30 p.m., a man was assaulted by two other men by punching him in the face and kicking him in the ankle. A beer bottle was also thrown at the victim and nearly hit him. The assault was in retaliation from an earlier argument between the victim and one of the men.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft, Swedish Motor Cars Inc., 551 N. Washington St., between Sept. 9, 6:00 p.m. and Sept. 11, 5:33 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 1995 Saab 900 SE that had been left at the business for service.
  • Suspicious Event, 200 blk. N. Maple Ave., Sept. 11, 11:03 p.m., a resident was taking his trash to the trash room. When he entered the room a male subject described as white, 5’10”, 180 lbs, light brown hair and silver rimmed glasses, wearing blue jeans and no shirt, ran out of the trash room and exited the building on the Maple St. entrance. Since there had been several incidents of theft in the building recently, the resident ran after the subject and told him to stop. He noticed the subject at the corner of the building near some white plastic bags, which contained beer cans and beer bottles. The man fled on foot and was pursued by the resident. A passing motorist called police on their cell phone to report the incident. The resident tried to keep up with the subject but he was able to flee without being caught.
  • Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, Price Is Right, Auto Sales, 400 blk. S. Maple Ave., between Sept. 11, 6:00 p.m. and Sept. 13, 8:26 a.m., unknown person(s) removed three tires off of a Buick Regal that was parked in the parking lot.
  • Larceny, 400 blk. Great Falls St., between Sept. 10, 8:00 p.m. and Sept. 13, 10:44 a.m., unknown person(s) removed a bronze frog lawn ornament from a residents yard.
