TJHS No Suprise With Top SATs
Standard Aptitude Test (SAT) scores for high schools in Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church released last week show, not surprisingly, that the regional magnet school for gifted students, the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology had hands-down the best overall average for college-bound students.
Thomas Jefferson's average score for 2003-2004 was 1,482 (Math 748, Verbal 734). Behind TJHS, the schools with the top averages in the region, ranked in order, are Langley (1,184), McLean (1,176), Woodson (1,159), Yorktown (1,146), Oakton (1,145), George Mason (1,143), Madison (1,141) and Marshall (1,134).
