Falls Church City Crime Report for Week Ending August 23
- Larceny, The Bike Club, 438 S. Washington St., August 17, 3:50 p.m., a 13 – 14 year old male entered the shop and inquired about the price of a bike. An employee told him a price and then left the boy alone. When the employee came back to the show room he found that two BMX bicycles were missing and so was the boy.
- Larceny, Xtra Mart Gas Station, 1200 W. Broad St., August 17, 5:32 p.m., a male subject pumped over $21.00 worth of gas in his vehicle and departed without paying for it.
- Destruction of Property, 900 blk. Ellison St., between August 16, 5:30 p.m. and August 17, 6:28 p.m., unknown person(s) smashed the passenger side mirror of a 2000 Mitsubishi.
- Destruction of Property, Tax Analysts, 500 N. Washington St., between August 17, 9:00 p.m. and August 18, 11:13 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged two doors to two separate areas by damaging the door knob on one door and trying to pry the dead bolt on another.
- Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Irving St., between August 17, 7:00 p.m. and August 18, 11:47 a.m., unknown person(s) placed a board with nails sticking out of it under the front passenger tire of a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
- Aggravated Assault, Murphy Brothers (Yellow Cab), 11 Hillwood Ave., police arrested a male, 33, of South Riding, VA and a male, 37, of Springfield, VA for aggravated assault after they were involved in an altercation at work with another co-worker.
- Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Gibson St., between August 17, 10:00 p.m. and August 18, 3:09 p.m., unknown person(s) scratched the side of a 2000 Toyota Corolla that was parked on the street.
- Larceny, Xtra Mart (Citgo), 1200 W. Broad St., August 19, 7:00 p.m., a male subject pumped over $12.00 of gas into his vehicle and then drove off without paying for it.
- Attempted Burglary, Residential, 700 blk. Parker Ave., between August 14, 3:26 a.m. and August 20, 5:36 p.m., unknown person(s) attempted to gain entry into a residence by cutting the screen on one bedroom window and pushing the screen in on another bedroom window. Entry was not gained into the residence.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, 7-11, 201 S. Washington St., August 21, 12:11 a.m., two male subjects took a 12 pack of beer each and left the store without paying for it.
- The beer was located nearby in the parking lot and returned to the store. The suspects fled on foot.
- Aggravated Assault, 900 blk. Ellison St., August 21, 2:34 a.m., a male victim reports that he was attacked by three male subjects. One of them cut him with a knife on his hands. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
- Larceny, Liberty Car Wash, 1050 W. Broad St., August 21, 1:12 p.m., a woman gave the attendant $10.00 in cash for gas. The woman then pumped over $25.00 worth of gas in the vehicle and left without paying the balance.
- Destruction of Property, Eden Center Parking Lot, 6757 Wilson Blvd., between August 22, 1:00 p.m. and August 23, 1:16 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged a 1995 Saturn by smashing the drivers’ side window, smearing sunscreen all over the exterior of the vehicle and the steering wheel. They also placed shards of glass in the sunscreen on the side of the vehicle and on the steering wheel.
