John Tuohy Appointed F.C.'s New Chief Financial Officer


The City of Falls Church named a new general manager of administrative services and chief financial officer to replace the departing Shirley Hughes. Yesterday, John Tuohy, finance director for the Virginia Railway Express of Northern Virginia, was announced as appointed to the post by City Manager Dan McKeever. Tuohy will assume his duties on Sept. 20.

Tuohy brings over 30 years of finance and accounting experience. Prior to his VRE position, where he supervised all finance and information technology functions, he served as finance director for Fauquier County, Virginia, managing both its general government and school finances. He has also served as deputy auditor for Fairfax County and deputy treasurer for Arlington County, Virginia.

A native of this region, he earned degrees as Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accounting from Georgetown University. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in both Virginia and Maryland.
