The summer season is moving on and so are these recent graduates from the College of William and Mary. The Falls Church City Democratic Committee’s new website is up and running at fallschurchdems.com. The site features news about local and national politcs as well as info about coming events of interest to local dems. It also contains comprehensive voting information and links to other home pages, such as those of elected Democratic representatives. And for all of you bloggers out there, the site contains a blog as well.

Since its 2004 launch, the Falls Church Education Foundation has raised more than $250,000 in gifts or pledges from community members, graduates of George Mason University and local businesses. The proceeds will be invested in the Foundation’s Endowment fund to provide long-term, supplementary financial support for the Falls Church City Public Schools, while some funds have been earmarked for specific purposes such as teacher development and student scholarship. The Foundation has set a goal of raising $1 million by the end of 2004 and has developed plan to attract support from individuals, corporations and foundations. Congratulations to Cox Communications Northern Virginia Vice President and General Manager Gary McCollum; President and COO of WGL Holdings/Washington Light Gas Company Terry McCallister; Robert Duncan, a partner in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia offices of Hogan and Hartson LLP; and Carlos Gonzalez, international tax service partner in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office, on their addition to the Board of Directors of Norther Virginia Family Service. NVFS was first established in 1924 and serves as a private, non-profit community service resource dedicated to helping individuals and families fin new paths to self-reliance and brighter futures.
