Crime Report for Falls Church City For Week Ending August 16
- Larceny from a Building, City Sunoco, 934 W. Broad St., August 10, 3:50 p.m., a male subject purchased a bottle of water with a one-dollar bill and when the cashier opened the cash register the man grabbed $160.00 in twenty dollar bills from the cash drawer and fled on foot. Police were not able to locate the suspect.
- Burglary, Commercial, Saigon USA, 6757 Wilson Blvd., August 10, between 1:30 a.m. and 9:04 a.m., unknown person(s) smashed out the front door of the business and removed numerous new cell phones.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 300 blk. Sycamore St., between August 10, 10:00 p.m. and August 11, 8:15 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2002 Dodge Caravan and removed a set of jumper cables and $10.00 in cash.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, Koons Dodge, 1051 W. Broad St., between August 10, 7:45 p.m. and August 11, 9:34 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a 2003 Ford Focus from inside the service garage.
- Burglary, Residential, 800 blk. Highland Ave., between August 10, 4:30 p.m. and August 11, 4:38 p.m., unknown person(s) entered a residence through an unlocked garage door that led into the residence. Once inside, unknown person(s) stole a Toshiba PC computer.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, Giant Food, 1230 W. Broad St., August 11, 6:05 p.m., police arrested a male, 34, of Sterling, Va. for stealing over $115.00 worth of items from the store.
- Larceny, Kaiser Permanente, 201 N. Washington St., August 12, between 2:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., unknown person(s) removed two check pads from a purse that was left unattended for a few minutes.
- Destruction of Property, Koons Ford Body Shop, 430 Roosevelt Blvd., August 12, 11:08 p.m., witnesses reported seeing 3 male subjects use a 2004 Dodge Pick up truck to smash the gate to get into the body shop parking lot. Several other vehicles were damaged in the attempt. The three fled on foot before police arrived.
- Larceny from a Building, Chevron Gas Station, 702 S. Washington St., between August 12, 10:00 p.m. and August 13, 6:07 a.m., unknown person(s) smashed out the glass door on a locked soda case in front of the building. Sixty sodas were found to be missing.
- Indecent Exposure, Mr. Barber Shop, 203 S. Washington St., August 13, 8:35 a.m., a male subject exposed himself to a woman who was opening up the business. She screamed and the suspect ran from the scene.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, Koons Ford, (Body Shop), 430 Roosevelt Blvd., between August 12, 5:30 p.m. and August 13, 9:00 a.m., unknown person(s) removed the license plates off of a 2003 Dodge Ram Van.
- Destruction of Property, parking lot of the 1100 blk. W. Broad St., August 13, 7:07 p.m., a woman waiting for a parking space got into an altercation with a male subject who pulled into her space before she could. The man later came back to his vehicle but before he left the parking lot he scratched the side door of the victim’s car. The woman asked the man why he scratched her vehicle and the man shoved the woman into her vehicle. The woman then punched the man in the face and he got into his vehicle and fled the scene.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 7-11, 804 S. Washington St., August 14, between 4:30 a.m. and 6:44 a.m., unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle while she was in
- 7-11 and stole a briefcase from the passenger seat.
- Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Irving St., between August 13, 6:45 p.m. and August 14, 10:46 a.m., unknown person(s) slashed two tires on a 1997 Ford Explorer.
- Destruction of Property, 400 blk. N. West St., between August 14, 7:00 p.m. and August 15, 1:48 p.m., unknown person(s) slashed a tire on a 1997 Toyota.
- Destruction of Property, 600 blk. N. Oak St., between August 14, 7:00 p.m. and August 15, 7:12 p.m., unknown person(s) slashed a tire on a 2003 Suzuki Aerio.
- Larceny from a Coin Operated Machine, 800 blk. W. Broad St., between August 13, 6:00 p.m. and August 16, 9:56 a.m., unknown person(s) broke into eight coin operated washers and dryers and stole $600.00 in coins.
- Destruction of Property, 100 blk. Kent St. (Berman Park), between August 13, 3:30 p.m. and August 16, 10:12 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged the park pavilion and scratched several picnic tables.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, Amigo Market, 928 W. Broad St., August 16, 8:54 p.m., a male subject entered the store and removed two twelve packs of beer and then left without paying for them.
