Crime Report for Falls Church City For Two Weeks Ending August 2
- Destruction of Property, 400 blk. S. Spring St., between July 17, 10:30 a.m. and July 20, 8:33 a.m., unknown person(s) slashed the left front tire on a 1993 Plymouth.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, 7-11, 201 S. Washington St., July 20, 2:07 p.m., police arrested a male, 35, of Falls Church, (county) for stealing two lighters from the store. Police also arrested him for an outstanding Falls Church warrant for Possession of Cocaine.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation, 107 Park Pl., (parking lot), July 21, 1:11 a.m., an officer on patrol noticed a vehicle with it’s parking lights and interior dome light on. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the male subject in the vehicle was in possession of drug paraphernalia and Marijuana. Police arrested a male, 25, of Falls Church (county), for possession of Marijuana. He was released on a summons.
- Indecent Exposure, WO&D Trail, N. Spring St., July 21, 1:05 p.m., a man described as a white male, wearing a burgundy shirt and long pants, exposed himself to a female who was walking on the bike trail. The suspect was seen leaving the area in a beige colored 4 door Cadillac.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, Koons Dodge, 1051 E. Broad St., between June 28, 12:01 a.m. and July 21, 4:23 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 2005 Dodge Magnum from the parking lot.
- Larceny, Mary Riley Styles Public Library, 120 N. Virginia Ave., July 22, 1:33 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a ladies purse that had been left unattended. The purse was found on a bookshelf minus the wallet. The wallet was found on another bookshelf minus the cash and a Visa Bank Card.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 100 blk., S. Virginia Ave., between July 22, 8:30 p.m. and July 23, 7:19 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 1995 Nissan and removed a briefcase containing a cassette player, headphones and work papers.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, Saab International, 540 S. Washington St., July 23, between 9:30a.m. and 9:50 a.m., unknown person(s) removed a wallet that was left in a rental vehicle that had been returned.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 100 blk. S. Virginia Ave., between July 22, 3:00 p.m. and July 23, 12:39 p.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1996 Ford Contour and removed a tape measure and $10.00 role of quarters. The vehicle may have been left unlocked.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 100 blk. Birch St., between July 23, 5:00 p.m. and July 24, 8:49 a.m., unknown person(s) broke out the right side window of a 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit and once inside stole a subwoofer that was behind the drivers seat.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 100 blk. Birch St., July 24, 3:00 a.m., an officer on patrol discovered a 1992 Honda Civic parked on Birch St. with it’s right rear door hanging open. Upon further investigation it was discovered that unknown person(s) had entered the vehicle and had rifled through the vehicle. The owner later reported that two pairs of shoes were taken from the vehicle.
- Fraud/False Pretenses, 500 blk. Dorchester Rd., between May 8, (unknown time) and July 24, 2:11 p.m., a resident reported that she had made several payments to an individual to have tree work done in her yard. As of July 24th, none of the work had been done and all of the checks had been cashed (over $2,500). Police are still investigating and warrants will be obtained at a later date.
- Destruction of Property, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, 601 S. Oak St., July 25, 2:11 a.m., unknown person(s) threw a rock through a window on one of the modular classrooms causing the alarm to go off. No entry was gained.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, Inns of Virginia (parking lot), 421 W. Broad St., between July 25, 9:00 p.m. and July 26, 6:13 a.m., unknown person(s) smashed out the drivers side window of a 1997 Volkswagen and once inside removed a CD player, a combination Radio/TV/VCR/CD, a sleeping bag, and a suitcase with clothes inside.
- Burglary, Commercial, TDQ Wireless, 6799-7 Wilson Blvd., between July 25, 1:00 a.m. and July 26, 10:07 a.m., unknown person(s) pushed in the glass on the front door of the business. Once inside, over $17,000 in cash was taken.
- Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Gibson St., between July 25, 6:00 p.m. and July 26, 5:47 p.m., unknown person(s) slashed the left rear tire of a 2000 Toyota Corolla.
- Larceny from a Building, Heritage Institute, 350 S. Washington St., between July 26, 1:00 p.m. and July 27, 9:43 a.m., unknown person(s) removed a purse from a classroom.
- Larceny from a Building, 200 blk. N. Maple Ave., between July 26, 8:00 p.m. and July 27, 9:47 a.m., unknown person(s) removed several household goods (mirrors, vases, candy bowl etc.) from several floors of the Condominiums.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 100 blk. S. Virginia Ave., July 27 between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1996 Toyota Pickup truck and removed a cell phone. It is unknown if the vehicle had been locked.
- Assault, Simple, Broad Street Grill, 132 W. Broad St., July 27, 11:19 p.m., police arrested a male, 21, of Vienna, VA for assault, a male, 23, of Falls Church, (county) for assault and a male, 21 of Vienna VA for Disorderly Conduct after an altercation broke out in the restaurant.
- Larceny from multiple Vehicles, 100 blk. Chanel Terrace, between July 27, 8:30 p.m. and July 28, 8:58 a.m., six different vehicles were entered and ransacked and it appears that the unknown person(s) were looking mostly for loose change in the vehicles. Most of the vehicles were left unlocked.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 300 blk. Riley St., between July 27, 11:00 p.m. and July 28, 9:00 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1997 Honda Accord and removed a wallet containing checks and credit cards.
- Tampering with a Vehicle, 300 blk. Riley St., between July 27, 11:00 p.m. and July 28, 7:00 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1999 Ford Explorer and ransacked the insides. Nothing was found to be missing.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, Citgo, 1200 W. Broad St., July 28, 9:22 a.m., a male subject entered the store and stole two cartons of cigarettes.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 300 blk. Riley St., between July 27, 11:00 p.m. and July 28, 9:24 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 1997 Cadillac and removed $7.00 from the ashtray.
- Tampering with a Vehicle, 600 blk. Knollwood Dr., July 28, 11:36 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 1987 Mercedes Benz and ransacked the inside. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
- Larceny from Vehicle, 1000 blk. Madison Ln., July 29, between 1:00 a.m. and 7:07 a.m., unknown person(s) entered several vehicles (Ford Explorer, Jeep Cherokee, a Saturn and a Mercury) on Madison Ln. and removed a wallet with cash and credit cards from one vehicle but it is unknown if any property was taken from the others.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 200 blk. S. Lee St., between July 28, 11:00 p.m. and July 29, 7:53 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 1996 Honda Accord, and removed assorted pool items such as beach towels, goggles, swim caps. Also taken was a wool coat and a pair of bowling shoes.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 400 blk. W. Broad St., between July 25, 2:30 p.m. and July 29, 12:43 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 1990 Chevy Van that was parked in a parking lot.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 200 blk. Pennsylvania Ave., between July 28, 12:00 a.m. and July 30, 5:01 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2003 Subaru, an unlocked 1967 Volkswagen and an unlocked 1999 Volkswagen, and removed loose change from the vehicles.
- Larceny, 300 blk. Little Falls St., between July 29, 5:00 p.m. and July 30, 9:41 a.m., unknown person(s) removed a Mitre Saw from the rear porch of a residence that is under construction.
- Larceny, 400 blk. Hampton Ct., between July 23, 12:00 p.m. and July 30, 7:43 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a red female 26” bicycle from the fenced in back yard of a residence.
- Larceny from a Building, Dominium Jewelers, 107 Rowell Ct., between July 17, (no time given) and July 31, 12:31 p.m., unknown person(s) removed two diamond rings from the store valued at $18,000.
- Destruction of Property, 600 blk. Poplar Dr., between July 31, 10:00 p.m. and August 1, 12:33 a.m., unknown person(s) scratched the hood of a 2002 Cadillac Escalade with a racial slur.
- Larceny from a Vehicle, 200 blk. Gundry Dr., between August 1, 7:30 p.m. and August 2, 8:19 a.m., unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2004 Volvo S40 and stole $40 from the console. Another vehicle, a 2002 Mercury, was also gone through in the 300 blk. of Gundry Dr., but nothing was taken.
