FCKLL 11/12's March On

Two more games, two more wins for the Falls Church-Kiwanis Little League 11/12-Year-Old All-Star team. Dominant pitching performances keyed a 9-0 victory over Vienna Colonial and a 2-1 win over Vienna National.

In the victory over Vienna Colonial, Lansing Veeder hit a home run and drove in four runs, while Jordan Ghannam picked up the win with four strong innings on the mound, limiting Vienna Colonial to only three hits, while striking out seven.

With the score 2-0, Tyler Roth drew a walk then gave way to pinch-runner Paul Weber who would later score. Billy Ledder and Quinn Casteel each scored twice while Greg Goldsmith added three hits.

In Saturday’s game against Vienna National, Billy Ledder lead off the game witha bunt single and was later driven home by Richard Evan’s RBI single. A second inning double by Ghannam, replaced on the basepaths by James Essex, who scored on Nicole Mitchell’s single.

Veeder picked up the victory on the mound with five innings of four-hit baseball. Tight defense by the Falls Church infield, who sucecesfully handled thirteen chances, provided strong support for the pitching staff.

The red-hot Falls Church team next plays tonight against Great Falls at 7 p.m.
