Bonjour and welcome. From the restaurant that brought you French cuisine close to home, comes a new opportunity to experience a Briton’s Banquet for less.

Bistro Des Celestins is the companion restaurant to La Cote D’or. While its parent restaurant has captured the fine French dining of Paris, the Bistro creates the relaxed but classy atmosphere of a café on the Champs-Elysees.

The Bistro focuses on providing delicious French food without all the fuss. Guests can dine in, take-out, and even get the Bistro to cater for events.

The casual atmosphere does not mean, though, that the terrific chefs specializing in French cuisine have cut back on the quality of the food. The menu is full of well known French favorites, tasty new opportunities, and even some of those adventurous French foods that you know you’ve always wanted to try but never had the courage.

In the arena of traditional dishes, the French Dip places juicy steak on the well-loved French baguette with the savory dipping sauce. The sandwich captures the ideal balance between the light and flaky bread and the mouth-watering beef, or bouef, if you prefer.

Another favorite, the crepe, is offered with variations. While America is very aware of the sweet crepe, with fruit and sugar, the Bistro also provides savory crepes including Vegetable Crepe Florentine and Wild Mushroom Crepes. Served under an intoxicating cream sauce, the flavors of the wild mushrooms blend with the pastry in a fascinating harmony.

The Bistro’s well rounded menu also includes a delicious selection of salads, fish, meats and quiches.

For those looking to try a uniquely French taste, grab the opportunity by the legs, frog legs, that is. Not quite like chicken, the dish has a taste that can only understood by experiencing.

Or you can dine at a snail’s pace with the Escargot de Bourgobne. Fresh from the shell, the delicacies saturated in garlic and herbs, melt in the mouth like an ice cube on a summer sidewalk.

Few discussions of French cuisine can end, though, without a mention of the dessert selection, and again the Bistro does not disappoint. The Mousse Au Chocolat, Creme Caramel and Profiterolles au Chocolat highlight their extensive and inviting list of delights.

Amidst all this culinary grandeur, the prices at the Bistro are equally tantalizing. With all the French words usually comes a price difficult to swallow, but the Bistro keeps all the cream for the food. The rich tastes come with a yeoman price. No dish on the menu, from the salads to the steaks, exceeds $12.95.

So relax into the exotic yet approachable menu and raise a glass of French wine, of which the Bistro has a quality selection, and feel the Joie de Vivre. Bon Appetit.
