Falls Church City Crime Report For Two Weeks Ending June 28
- Larceny from a Building, 702 S. Washington St., between June 14, 10:00 p.m. and June 15, 8:17 a.m., a Washington Post delivery employee stated that a vending machine for the newspaper that is located in front of the above address was stolen.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, Syms, 1000 E. Broad St., June, 15, 7:06 p.m., police arrested Marvin Lloyd, 46, of 3417 Carpenter St. SE, Washington D.C., was arrested for stealing a Polo brand leather card holder.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 500 blk. Roosevelt Blvd., between June 15, 9:00 p.m. and June 16, 12:59 p.m., unknown person(s) removed the front license plate from a 1992 Buick LeSabre.
- Destruction of Property, 1300 balk. Tracy Place, between June 15, 7:00 p.m. and June 16, 6:38 p.m., unknown person(s) broke out a basement storm door window possibly with a rock.
- Assault, Simple, 300 blk. W. Broad St., June 16, 9:15 p.m., unknown person(s) threw an egg at a man who was waiting for a bus.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, Giant Food, 1230 W. Broad St., June 17, 12:27 p.m., two 15 year old females and one 16 year old male were charged with shoplifting several items from Giant.
- Assault, Simple, 300 blk. W. Broad St., June 17, 9:35 p.m., unknown person(s) threw an egg at a woman walking on Broad St. and struck her in the ankle.
- Larceny from a Building, 103 W. Broad St., (Office), between June 16, 5:30 p.m. and June 18, 6:12 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a laptop computer from a Doctor’s office.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, 7-11, 201 S. Washington St., June 18, 11:00 p.m., police arrested a male, 38, of Springfield, VA. for stealing a bottle of wine.
- Counterfeiting, Forgery, Anthony’s Restaurant, 309 W. Broad St., June 18, 11:55 p.m., a waitress discovered that someone had left a fake $50.00 bill on the table and then walked out.
- Liquor Law Violation, 100 blk. Rees Pl., June 19, 1:29 a.m., police responding to a noise complaint arrested a male, 19, of Falls Church (City) for possession of alcohol underage.
- Attempted Burglary, Residential, 6000 blk. N. 16th St., June 19, 3:58 p.m., unknown person(s) tried to gain entry into a basement door by prying open the door. Entry was not gained.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation, 100 blk. Birch St., June 19, 7:57 p.m., police arrested Joshua a male, 19, of Annandale, VA for possession of Marijuana incident to an arrest on a court capias.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 100 blk. N. Virginia Ave., June 21, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:05 a.m., unknown person(s) removed the front license plated off of a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII that was parked at the Library.
- Throw Missile at Occupied Vehicle, 100 blk. S. Cherry St., June 21, 11:55 a.m., unknown person(s) shot a paintball at a moving vehicle hitting the passenger side window.
- Suspicious Event, 200 blk. E. Fairfax St., between June 20, 7:00 p.m. and June 21, 10:28 p.m., a resident reported receiving a notice in the mail stating that he had won over $600,000 in a sweepstakes lottery program. The resident never entered his name in any program and believes this to be a scam. A form was given to him requesting that he send back all his pertinent information to include financial information. The resident reported this so that others would not be conned into this apparent scam.
- Destruction of Property, 300 blk. N. Maple Ave., between June 19, 6:30 p.m. and June 22, 10:03 a.m., unknown person(s) threw eggs on the windshield of a 1994 Honda Civic.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, Eden Center, 6763 Wilson Blvd., between June 21, 8:00 a.m. and June 22, 3:51 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 1991 Toyota Camry that was parked in the parking lot. The vehicle was later recovered in Washington D.C.
- Suspicious Event, 1000 W. Broad St., June 22, 6:15 p.m., unknown person(s) threw an egg at a pedestrian as he was walking on the sidewalk. The egg missed hitting the pedestrian.
- Recovered Stolen Vehicle, Eden Center, 6757 Wilson Blvd., June 23, 6:36 a.m., police recovered a 1989 Toyota Camry that had been stolen from Washington D.C.
- Destruction of Property, 200 blk. Gundry Dr., between June 22, 10:00 p.m. and June 23, 6:54 a.m., unknown person(s) pried open the passenger side window of a 1996 Honda and gained entry. Once inside, unknown person(s) tried to pop the ignition to steal the vehicle but was unsuccessful.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, 200 blk. Gibson St., between June 23, 12:01 a.m. and June 23, 9:17 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a 1997 Honda Civic and tried to pop the ignition, damaged the steering column and removed the stereo. Also taken was a laptop computer that was in the trunk.
- Larceny, Shoplifting, 7-11, 201 S. Washington St., June 23, 9:39 p.m., two male subjects entered the store. One of the men stole a bottle of beer and fled without paying.
- Destruction of Property, Walter Phillips Inc., 207 blk. Park Ave., between June 23, 5:30 p.m. and June 24, 10:39 a.m., unknown person(s) spray painted graffiti on the parking lot of a business.
- Arson, Attempted, Ideal Tiles, 929 W. Broad St., June 24, 1:01 p.m., unknown person(s) placed a rag in the filler tube of a gas tank on a 1988 Ford Econoline Van and attempted to light it. The fire went out before it reached the tank.
- Destruction of Property, 900 blk. Lincoln Ave., between June 23, 8:30 p.m. and June 24, 6:24 p.m., unknown person threw an egg hitting the passenger side window of a 2002 Toyota Highlander that was parked on the street.
- Indecent Exposure, 300 blk. Walnut St., June 26, 7:45 p.m., police arrested a male, 42, of Arlington VA., for indecent exposure when he exposed his genitals to a group of adults and juveniles who were having a birthday party in the backyard of their residence. The suspect was standing between a tree and a backyard fence at the time of the incident.
- Assault, Simple, 900 blk. W. Broad St., June 26, 9:45 p.m., unknown person(s) threw an egg at a pedestrian hitting her in the back.
- Burglary, Commercial, Saigon U.S.A., 6757 Wilson Blvd., between June 26, 10:30 p.m. and June 27, 8:53 a.m., unknown person(s) broke out the glass front door and once inside stole several mobile phones, $300 in cash, phone cards and two digital cameras.
- Larceny, Virginia Forrest Chevron, 702 S. Washington St., between June 23, 12:00 a.m. and June 28, 10:09 a.m., an unknown male pumped $20.00 worth of gas and then left without paying for it.
