Crime Report for Week Ending June 7
- Larceny, Shoplifting, 7-11, 201 S. Washington St., June 1, 10:02 p.m., a man described as a white male wearing a blue shirt and jean shorts, walked up to the beer refrigerator and took a 12 pack of beer and walked back out without paying.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 800 blk. Villa Ridge Rd., June 2, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:59 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 1998 Honda Elite motorcycle from the front yard of a residence.
- Assault, Simple, Eden Center, 6795 Wilson Blvd., June 2, 1:23 p.m., a woman had several articles of clothing picked out and then tried to leave without paying for them. A scuffle ensued with the owner and the suspect as the owner tried to call police on a cell phone. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.
- Larceny, 100 blk. S. Virginia Ave., June 2, 6:47 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a boy’s 20” “Giant BMX” bicycle that was left outside of the residence.
- Assault, Simple, Giant Food, 1230 W. Broad St., June 3, 12:56 a.m., a security employee watched a white male subject (on a security camera) enter the store and conceal a six pack of beer in his backpack. The suspect then tried to leave the store but was confronted by the security employee who asked him why he was stealing the beer. The suspect then shoved the employee in the chest and ran out of the store. During the scuffle the employee grabbed the shirt of the suspect but he twisted out of the shirt and left his shirt and backpack, with the beer in it, on the floor.
- Assault, Simple, M&M Floors, 1075 W. Broad St., June 3, between 7:15 a.m. and 10:37 a.m., two employees got into an argument that led to physical altercation.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, Koons Ford, (Body Shop), 410 Roosevelt Blvd., between May 29, 6:00 p.m. and June 3, 10:55 a.m., unknown person(s) cut a whole in a fence and removed a 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra from the parking lot.
- Unlawful Entry, 300 blk. Grove Ave., between May 27, 12:00 a.m. and June 6, 11:29 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a vacated home that is being torn down to build a bigger home and once inside tracked mud throughout the house. Some items were being stored inside the home in a back room but they were undisturbed. An outside A/C Unit was taken in the incident.
- Damage to Property, 300 blk. Grove Ave., between June 3, 12:00 a.m. and June 4, 6:53 a.m., unknown person(s) shot several vehicles parked on the street with orange paint balls.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, Jazzie Pools, 429 S. Maple Ave., between May 27, 5:00 p.m. and June 4, 12:29 p.m., unknown person(s) stole the rear license plate off of a 1995 International truck.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 900 blk. W. Broad St., between June 3, 8:00 p.m. and June 4, 1:12 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 2003 Honda Metropolitan Moped that had been chained to a sidewalk rail.
- Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, Jazzie Pools, 429 S. Maple Ave., between May 27, 12:00 a.m. and June 4, 4:31 p.m., an employee did not return with the company truck and it’s equipment after his shift ended. The company contacted the employee and told him to return the truck and equipment but the employee was not heard from again. The vehicle was located by other company employees abandoned on the side of the road in Maryland with all of the equipment missing from inside. The employee/suspect has still not been found.
- Burglary, Commercial, Nhu Lan Sandwich Shop, 6763 Wilson Blvd., June 5, 10:00 p.m. and June 6, 9:20 a.m., unknown person(s) entered the shop through the ceiling and once inside removed $200.00 from the cash register.
