5th Annual Cappies Gala Set for Sunday, June 13 At Kennedy Center
The fifth annual Cappies Gala will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, in the concert hall at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Through the Cappies (Critics and Awards program), nearly 300 area high school theater students attend each other's shows, write reviews for newspapers and television, and serve as Cappies awards judges. On May 16, 240 student critics voted for Cappie nominations and awards through a digital student-designed voting process.

In July and August, approximately 50 Cappies winners, chosen by their peers across the U.S., will be invited to participate in the Cappies National Theater. The national cast will put on three shows at the Kennedy Center's Theater Lab scheduled for July 26, August 2, and August 9.

Nominees for 2004 Cappies Awards include Jeb Stuart High School’s Annaliese Weber for Female Critic, Clayton Tune from Falls Church High School for Comic Actor in a Play for his role in The Three Musketeers, and Jeb Stuart High School was nominated for Critics Team.
