And the Pitch...Marshall Wins the Pitch

GEORGE C. MARSHALL High School's Statesmen emerged the champions of last week's Alexandria-Falls Church Spring Break High School Baseball Tournament with a victory over Mt. Vernon High School of Alexandria last Thursday. The Statesmen, coached by Richard Sullivan, lost to Falls Church's George Mason High School in the tournament opener, but then came back to win all their remaining games. Here's Marshall's scrappy junior shortstop, Ben Fletcher (1) at the plate. George Mason lost Thursday, 6-5, in their match-up against the second place team in the Alexandria division of the tournament to end 2-2 overall for the week. (News-Press photo)
