RICHARD MCCALL (standing), Kieran Sharpe and Robert Young (seated, left to right) successfully petitioned the Falls Church City Council late Monday for a $50,000 contribution of seed money to launch a fledgling Falls Church Educational Foundation (FCEF) effort to create and build an endowment fund in support of the Falls Church Public Schools. Sharpe was there to report the School Board had already put $50,000 to the historic effort. In addition to McCall and Young, FCEF board member Nicholas F. Benton was present for the late night vote Monday, which was unanimous. The FCEF will move to hire an executive director and plan a major presence at the June 25 reunions of all graduating classes of George Mason High School, a combined reunion that occurs once every five years. The FCEF has set ambitious fundraising goals for its first five years. (News-Press photo)
