Marino Resigns Theatre Arts Teaching Post

At its meeting Tuesday, the Falls Church School Board voted to accept the resignation of George Mason Middle/High School theatre arts teacher Frank Marino, effective last Monday.

Marino was arrested by Prince William County Police on the George Mason Middle/High School campus on February 12 and was held over the Presidents Day weekend without bond while being charged with "crimes against nature" and taking indecent liberties with a child. The charges stemmed from an alleged sexual relationship between Marino and a student at the high school.

The "crimes against nature" charges have been dropped, the News-Press has learned, and a trial date is scheduled to be set next Tuesday in Prince William Circuit Court for two charges of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Marino was a highly-respected and beloved drama and theatre arts teacher for 10 years in the Falls Church School System.
