Crime Report for Week Ending March 8


Fraud by Impersonation, 800 blk. W. Broad St., Mar. 2, 1:13 p.m., a resident reported that an unknown person from California had stolen his identity using his name, date of birth and social security number to buy things.

Larceny from a Building, EP Mowing & Landscaping, 6759 Wilson Blvd., between Feb. 27, 6:30 p.m. and Mar. 3, 8:07 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a storage room inside the building and removed a power washer, a push blower and a steel backpack STHL.

Destruction of Property, Ideal Tile, 929 W. Broad St., Mar. 4, 10:00 a.m., a man who was hired to install a glass window next to the entryway, broke the window after a disagreement with the owner.

Larceny from a Building, Don Beyer Volvo, 1231 W. Broad St., between Feb. 24, 4:00 p.m. and Mar. 4, 11:14 a.m., unknown person(s) stole 21 sets of temporary license plates (paper tags) from within two locked safes at the dealership.

Shooting at or Throwing Missiles at a moving Vehicle, 300 blk. S. West St., Mar. 4, 4:08 p.m., unknown person(s) shot a paint ball at a school bus hitting it on the drivers side. No one was injured in the incident.

Damage to Property, 200 blk. S. West St., between Mar. 3, 5:30 p.m. and Mar. 5, 9:30 a.m., unknown person(s) shot paint balls at the front steps of a residence and also on a vehicle that was parked in front of the residence.

Larceny from a Vehicle, 400 blk. E. Columbia St., between Feb. 23, 12:00 p.m. and Mar. 5, 9:58 a.m., unknown person(s) entered a work van and removed a saw and a Skil biscuit joiner.

Fraud by Impersonation, 300 blk. W. Broad St., Mar. 6, 6:36 p.m., a man was approached by a male and female subject in the Post Office parking lot and identified themselves as security for the area. One was described as a Hispanic male, 5’7” to 5’10”, skinny build and the other as a Hispanic female, same height and skinny build. Both were wearing light blue shirts and dark navy blue trousers and wearing some type of hanging ID badge around their necks. The victim had just received some money from a business and was walking across the parking lot when he was approached by the suspects. The suspects tried to get the victim to go in a vehicle with them (described as a silver colored van or SUV) stating that the money he had received was fake and they needed him to go with them back to the store to investigate. They told him to give them the money ($200.00) and a gold chain that was around his neck. Once they had the money and necklace the suspects then informed the victim that he was not the person they were looking for and fled the scene in the vehicle.

Burglary, Residential, 300 blk. N. Virginia Ave., between Mar. 5, 12:00 p.m. and Mar. 6, 8:31 p.m., unknown person(s) entered a residence by unknown means and removed a laptop computer, a play station and a game cube.

Motor Vehicle Theft, 200 blk. E. Fairfax St., between Mar. 8, 6:15 p.m. and Mar. 8, 8:58 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 2000 Tomo Moped that was locked with two locks on the side of the building.
