Moot Leaves Chamber to Start Venture
Stacy Moot, executive director of the Greater Falls Church since September 2001, announced her resignation this week to launch a business venture in the City of Falls Church.
Moot, a long-time City resident with three children in City schools, will take over the reigns of the Caffeine coffee shop in the 700 block of West Broad Street and re-name the company "Stacy's Coffee Parlor."
The new venture will be family-oriented and feature many special events. Moot says she's looking forward to the new opportunities that the three large-scale mixed use projects now slated for the immediate neighborhood will provide.
Chamber president Dr. Steve Rogers and other Chamber board members had high praise for Moot's work as the Chamber's executive. During her tenure, the Chamber's membership grew robustly, as did its income and the use of that income for outreach programs.
Moot's latest effort is the Chamber's annual gala this Saturday night at the Doubletree Hotel. Over 120 guests have committed to attend the event, making it one of the highest turnouts in Chamber history.
