Advertisment Information
Advertising in the Falls Church News-Press
Advertising in the weekly tabloid-sized, independent and locally owned Falls Church News-Press is your best way to effectively target customers in the greater Falls Church, Virginia, area, among the wealthiest in the nation, which includes the 22041, 22042, 22043, 22044, 22046 and 22205 ZIP codes.
Highest Circulation in the Region
The News-Press is the only community newspaper serving this region, with a professionally audited circulation of 24,000. That number surpasses, easily, the total for the daily Washington Post serving the same area. The only two other newspapers serving the region, the Washington Times and Northern Virginia Journal, have circulation in the region a fraction of that of the News-Press.
The breakdown, by ZIP code, of the News-Press’ 24,000 free delivery circulation is as follows: 22041 (Baileys Crossroads)—3,000; 22042 (Sleepy Hollow)—4,500; 22043 (Pimmit Hills)—5,000; 22044 (Lake Barcroft)—3,000; 22046 (City of Falls Church)—6,000; and 22205 (North Arlington)—2,500.
Well-Read, by the Right People
A survey published by the City of Falls Church’s Office of Communication last year established beyond a doubt that not only is the News-Press the region’s primary source of local news, but that it is carefully read by the public. As a result of that survey, the City of Falls Church switched this year from mailing a monthly publication to every household in the jurisdiction to publishing a weekly information sheet in the News-Press. It renewed its contract to do this for a second full year in May 2003.
The region served by the News-Press is characterized by the following: the City of Falls Church has the second-highest percentage of college graduates among its total population of any jurisdiction in the entire United States; the City of Falls Church and surrounding areas served by the News-Press are ranked among the top five jurisdictions in the U.S. in terms of per capita income.
A Leading Supporter of the Community
The News-Press has been certified every year since 1993 by the courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia to publish official legal notices, based on a set of strict criteria establishing the bona fide standing of the paper, including an annual audit of circulation. The News-Press has twice been named the City of Falls Church’s “Business of the Year” by the City Council, in 1991 and 2001. Its owner/editor served two terms as president of the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce and was a recipient of the “Pillar of the Community” award in 1993. The News-Press is one of two free-distribution newspapers in Virginia accepted as a full voting member of the Virginia Press Association.
