Crime Report for Week Ending Februrary 2
- Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Shreve McGonegal, 212 N. West St., between Jan. 26, 8:00 a.m. and Jan 28, 3:06 p.m., a new employee was issued a vehicle and gas card to perform his job with the company. The employee has not shown up to work since last Friday. A charge on the gas card showed gas being purchased in Lanham MD. on Jan. 26th. The employee has not been seen since.
- Motor Vehicle Theft, 100 blk. E. Fairfax St.(church parking lot), Jan. 30, between 8:15 p.m. and 9:57 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a 1987 Chevy 350 van that was parked in the parking lot while the victim attended a meeting at The Falls Church.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation, Inns of Virginia, 421 W. Broad St., Jan. 31, 11:20 a.m., police responded to the Inns of Virginia after management called and stated that there was an unconscious woman in the room. A man opened the door and let police in. The woman was now conscious and responding to questions. Police then noticed drug paraphernalia in the room and also discovered heroine and cocaine. Police arrested a male, 37, of 2622 Sigmona St., Falls Church (county) and charged him with possession of a controlled substance.
- Burglary, Commercial, El Zunzal Restaurant, 917 W. Broad St., Feb. 1, between 2:30 a.m. and 9:41 a.m., unknown person(s) tried to pry open the front door of the restaurant but could not gain entry. They then went to the rear door and pried it open. Once inside, unknown person(s) tried to pry open the cash register but were unsuccessful. Nothing else seemed to be missing from the restaurant.
- Recovered Stolen Vehicle, parking lot in front of 1212 W. Broad St., Feb. 1, 10:32 a.m., police recovered a 2001 Dodge passenger car that had been stolen from Saint Leonard, MD.
- Larceny, Giant Food, 1230 W. Broad St., Feb. 1, between 5:46 p.m. and 6:02 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a wallet out of a purse that was in a shopping cart.
- Recovered Stolen Vehicle, parking lot in the 100 blk. E. Fairfax St., Feb. 2, 2:58 a.m., police recovered a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker that had been stolen earlier from Arlington County.
- Fraud, Credit Card, 1100 blk. S. Washington St., between Jan. 31, 10:00 a.m. and Feb. 2, 11:03 a.m., unknown person(s) took several credit cards out of a wallet that was located in an apartment and made several charges on the credit cards totaling over $6,000.00 in merchandise.
- Burglary, Residential, 800 blk. W. Broad St., between Jan. 31, 12:00 a.m. and Feb. 2, 9:12 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an apartment by unknown means and stole several CD’s/DVD’s, a camera and also tampered with the handle on the glass door of the stereo cabinet.
